BENIKRUKRU CHRISMAS CARNIVAL 2024

In Benikrukru, a vibrant community situated in Gbaramatu Kingdom within the Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, a remarkable annual event takes place, organized by the illustrious son of the community Mr. Matthew Tonlagha and his lovely wife. This festive gathering, known as the Chrismas Party, is held under the auspices of his non-governmental organization (NGO), “Esther Matthew Tonlagha Foundation” (EMTF) which aims to foster community spirit and celebrate the holiday season.

Each year, people from far and near flock to the event, taking advantage of the free boat transportation provided to ensure everyone can participate in the festivities. The occasion is marked by an abundance of food, drinks, and gift items, including bags and other essentials, which are generously offered to attendees. This tradition not only brings joy to the community but also strengthens bonds among residents and visitors alike.

The Christmas Party has become a significant highlight of the year, attracting reputable figures from various sectors, including politics and entertainment. In attendance, are Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, the former Deputy Governor of Delta state, Pete Edochie, alias ‘Okonkwo’, Patience Ozonkwor alias ‘Susu’, Nkem Owoh alias ‘Ukwa’, and others. Their presence adds prestige to the event, making it a memorable occasion for all involved. Mr. Matthew Tonlagha has impacted many lives in Delta State that have attracted the attention of the Delta state Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to his Philanthropic gestures. Through Matthew’s efforts and the support of his NGO, the celebration continues to thrive, embodying the spirit of giving and togetherness that defines the holiday season in Benikrukru.
